Been awhile

My last post was back in May? my blog tells me.

I was working at a law firm, but I randomly got a call from one of the places I had interviewed with back in February offering me a job. I took it. Now I code for an ambulance company. It was not a job I'd ever seen myself liking, but I love it. I get to be nosey and read people's ambulance reports all day, I answer the phone maybe 3-5 times a day (and that's usually just nurses), and I get to pop in my earbuds and listen to whatever I want while I code. Its awesome. My coworkers are great as well. And my boss is awesome. She's probably the best boss I've ever had.

I've been attacked by anxiety again, which is just fabulous. I took action this time, and went to see my GP. He put me on one type of anti-anxiety medicine, which completely didn't work. Instead of mellowing me out, it made me rage in such a way that I was terrified of myself. So, off that. Now on some sort of other medicine that works, but makes me so dang tired that I'm falling asleep at my desk at work and stuff, which is not good. In January, I'll be going to another doctor for my thyroid. She's a DO, and her clinic focuses more on treating the whole person rather than the condition, so she'll be getting me set up with the right foods, right exercise, right supplements, the works. I'm hoping that, with her help, I'll be able to beat back the anxiety for good, because it wasn't nearly this bad before my thyroid shenanigans.

Also, off the birth control pill as soon as I can get up the willpower to call my insurance company and see what other birth control options are covered, such as Implanon. Then it'll be one less pill to take. Thank god the actual appointment will be covered as my "wellness" visit.

So, work's good, marriage's good, life's good.

  1. I battled with Anxiety last year. It seemed to be induced by Depression, but it crops up every now and then. I learned some amazing "grounding strategies" (at which I rolled my eyes in the beginning) but they truly work for me. Hope you're feeling better!
